National, Local and Branch officers joined together
in our Nation's Capitol to press key legislators on issues surrounding
pending Senate and Congressional Bills on Postal Reform

Local President Robert Losi, Vice President Dave West, Treasurer Tim
Dwyer, Central MA Branch President Craig Lauzon and Portsmouth NH
Branch President Mike Hickson joined Local Officers from around the
Country and our National Officers in Washington, DC to lobby key
legislators on Capitol Hill on Postal Reform.

Postal Service Announces Plan for Interim Consolidation of 1st Class 3-Day Destinating Mail

The Postal Service Revealed Plans for an "Interim
Consolidation" of 3-Day Destinating Mail operations from throughout the
Eastern Half Of New England to a single "Consolidated" Operation in
Northwest (Waltham) Boston.

The Postal Service from the Massachusetts District announced plans
to start up an "Interim Consolidation" operation of 3-day destinating
first class mail in the Northwest Boston Facility located in Waltham,
MA.

was on vacation for this meeting, however I would like to update the
Royal Oak Branch on the new facility based on the minutes that I
received.

NPMHU Granted Direct Affiliation with the AFL-CIO

On December 12, 2006 the NPMHU signed a charter as a direct affiliate
of the AFL-CIO.  While the relationship between LIUNA and the NPMHU
will not change, the NPMHU will once again be participating in AFL-CIO
programs and activities.

Phase 2 of the National Reassessment Process Implemented

Process, in which limited duty and rehabilitation assignments are being
