Contract Increase Set for February 16, 2008

The Mail Handlers Update: January 2008 NEW WAGE SCALES EFFECTIVE ON FEBRUARY 16, 2008 All mail handlers will receive a general wage increase of 0.6% effective on February 16, 2008. Click the link at the right for the charts. As noted, this increase will be implemented effective February 16, 2008, and will be reflected in paychecks on March 7, 2008. This wage increase is the first of four separate wage increases scheduled for calendar year 2008: a general wage increase of 0.6% in February, a general wage increase of 1.2% effective in November, and two cost-of-living adjustments (amounts still unknown) that are scheduled to be added to base wages in March and September of this year. As noted, the new wage charts are printed below. These wages will remain in effect for only a short period of time, until the March COLA is added to base wages. New wage charts reflecting the March COLA will be printed as soon as the amount of that COLA is finally determined.
